HOORAY WE HAVE GRASS

Well we got our curbing in yesterday (it looks so awesome I love it). Sod arrived today and me, Steve, Steve's dad and two high school boys that Steve hired laid it. My job was cutting and piecing, pretty easy work but my fingers are really sore tonight.

I LOVE IT. It is so nice to look out my office window and see green grass. Supposedly we are suppose to stay off of it for about 10 days. Me and the girls are going to my moms in McCammon for the rest of the week and weekend so the girls (and myself) won't be temped to go and roll around in it.

The arrival

Me and Zoey (I know I look lovely).

Zoey is the best helper

The girls jumping for joy that they have grass to play on.

First week of summer break

Well Steve has been out of school and we have been doing prep work for our yard, we got some landscape rocks delivered yesterday, curbing is coming on Monday and then sod on Tuesday. I am so excited to have some grass. I'm not posting any pics until I have some beautiful green grass to add some color to the picture.

The girls have been going crazy playing and making clubhouses and all sorts of stuff like that. The last 3-4 days we have slept in, went to bed late and watched about 2-3 movies a day in our theatre room. We are a bunch of lumps. Yesterday Steve took Shya, Sophie and Ally to the movie, they saw Prince Caspian. Zoey fell asleep so I decided not to go.

They had their cousin Ashley stay the night last night and I took a pic of them all playing together.

Lots of girl hormones running through the house last night.

Today Sophie and Shya were out playing and they went over to where the pile was burnt and Sophie stepped in some hot ashes and burnt her foot pretty bad so we spent this morning doctoring her and bandaging her foot.

My daughter the fashion designer

Okay seriously about every other day Ally comes down stairs dressed in something she has made from either a towel, a blanket, a hair thing, belt, an item of my clothing, anything you name it and she will make it into something that she can wear.

Last night I sent her up to get her jammies on and to go to bed because she was in trouble. I don't know why I was suprised, but 10 minutes later she comes trotting down the stairs dressed like this..............

If you can't tell it is a long sleeved pajama shirt. Watch for this fashion in the next runway show!!!

Steve's B-day and Our visitors

Friday was Steve's B-day he is whopping 35 years old. We gave him a set of scriptures for his B-day. Shya and Ally made him a cake, I won't post the recpie because it was a "secret recipe". All I know is that it was made out of popcorn, butter, penut butter and melted chocolate.
Take a look.

Of course we tried a little tinsy bit of it but that was about all we could handle. It's the thought that counts right?

Monday Steve and Shya did not have school, for some crazy reason they got a day off for the fun of it. We got a phone call from my mom and her and Tyson were on their way to our house. The girls were so excited they asked all day long how much longer until Tys and NOnna were going to be there. When they got here we just hung out and watched some movies. Mom of course found stuff to do cleaning or organizing or something to fix. All day Tuesday we cleaned house and made cookies that fun kind of stuff.

Tyson took the girls for a fourwheeler ride. Shya also convinced him to play soccer with her (since mom is too busy).

Mom and me went somewhere during the day and Tyson was left with Zoey to babysit. When we got back she was sound asleep on the steps, what a great babysitter.

Princesses

Well Steve is gone to Orlando Florida for a conference, Lucky dog. We are over here freezing in this stupid weather that cannot make up its mind and he is basking in 80 degree weather. Anyways while he was gone, last night (Sunday) we had frozen pizza for dinner (blah) and watched the ABC Family show "Princess". After we were done watching the show Ally and Zoey started dressing up and they were fighting over princess shoes and a crown. So then they decided to get out all my scrapbook stuff and make crowns. Oh Boy, I think I live with 3 princesses. Ally has been in dress ups since.

I know they look more like Indian Headdresses than princess tiaras, but they spent
a lot of time working on these things

PICTURES TO POST!!!!!!

well I finally bought myself a new camera. I am excited about it. My old camera was a 4 mp and this is a 7.2 and has a 10x zoom, so I am definitely upgrading.

My first pictures experimenting with the camera

Tonight Ally had a soccer game, it was very cold and windy and miserable.
They did good of course and I took some pictures Yahoo..

Ally as goalie, (not her specialty)

Zoey and her friend London cuddling in the freezing cold

Me, Shya and Zoey trying to keep warm (normally my hair does not look like a comb over, It was very windy).

Soccer (today is Saturday)

The girls had soccer games today. Shya's team rocked today the score was 6:1 and she scored 4 of the goals. The coach ended up putting her as goalie so she would quit racking up the score. He doesn't like to rack up the score too much.

Ally's team tied and she actually scored a goal!!!. The weather was awesome 67 degrees. That is the kind of soccer weather that I like.

These pics were from last Tuesday night and one of the parents took all the kids to A&W for ice cream after the game.

Weekend with Nonna

Friday after Shya got out of school at noon we packed up and headed for Nonna's house. The girls really were excited to go but hate the long ride. Once we got there mom had Brandon and Angie's 4 kids that she was tending while they went to Hawaii (lucky dogs). So the girls were excited to spend some time with their cousins. They got in trouble the first night we were there because they were out behind the barns chasing a loose calf and messing around and Bridger stepped on a rusty old farm nail. Mom got out the crutches for Bridger to use and that started a line of little kids who wanted to use them.

Ally giving the crutches a try, but not successfully.

I think they had a great time, mom and me slipped out to a candle party for about an hour on Saturday and then we watched conference on Sunday.
It was definitely a quick trip and they girls were not as excited to leave as they were to come.

Shya having a mental breakdown because we have to go home. (She might kill me some day for this).

She eventually got over it, because this picture was right before we left, about 5 minutes later. Man girls are moody!!

Well we have gone home, Brandon and Angie's kids have gone home, hopefully mom can kick up her feet, relax and read a good book!!!

Thanks mom!!!

Working through SPRING BREAK

Shya and Zoey picking up Rocks in front of the house

Our huge burn pile that the girls think is the best playground
I told Zoey to turn and look at me while I took the picture and
she yelled at me "Climbin".

This is as far as I would let her go

Our HOUSE!!!

Just for the fun, I thought I would add a pic of the house
1 year ago!!! This was from the same position that I took the
picture above from. What a change huh?

So we haven't done anything more exciting. We did go see Horton Hears a Who and out to dinner on Tuesday. The rest of the time we have been keeping busy with yard work. I guess it is not really yard work, it is dirt work, and clean up work.
Thanks to Rob and Carrie we made a grand purchase. We bought a popcorn popper!!!!
While Rob and Carrie were here visiting we watched movies and had snacks. Their family really wanted popcorn and they thought it was so absurd that we did not own a popcorn popper, let alone microwave popcorn. Sooooo we splurged and bought one. Thanks guys.

First part of SPRING BREAK-EASTER

Well we had parent teacher conferences for Shya on the 19th. Shya is doing awesome in school!!! Wednesday was also the last day of school for students. Steve had to go on Thursday until 9 at night but then was off for Spring Break. So our activities so far have consisted of....Rob and Carrie, Britton, Breckin and Malia showed up at our house at 3:30in the morning Friday morning. They drove all night. I still taught aerobics Friday morning as usual came home and we pretty much did absolutely nothing but chill all day Friday. Hopefully Rob, Carrie and their fam were not completely bored out of their minds. WE did go out to dinner Friday night in Nampa. It took us 1 hour to figure out where we were going to eat (you know so many decisions when you go into a big town)!!!
All of us at Red Robin

Saturday we were a little bit more adventurous Rob and Steve took the kids to the hot pots out by the damn while me and Carrie went to Wal-Mart and Jo-Anns.

Next we took the girls to the Primary Activity. They had lots of fun they played games and then had an easter egg hunt!!

We rented 4 movies and watched movies the rest of the night. It was great!!
And..............Today is EASTER, Happy Easter everybody!!!
Of course we went to church, had a nice dinner and Carrie made scrumptious lemon bars. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Rob and Carrie left after dinner. Thanks for coming guys, hope you had a fabulous time!!
The girls before church, Shya, Malia and Zoey

After Rob and Carried left, Me, Steve and the girls packed up our easter eggs and headed over to Margies. We had an easter egg hunt in her back yard and visited with her and the girls played in the yard (since we don't have any grass yet we have to borrow hers). Let's see what tomorrow and the rest of Spring Break brings for us. I'll keep you posted..

Soccer Tuesday

The girls had their second game last night. My camera is on the fritz and it is low on batteries and so I didn't get very many, or very good ones, but here are a few.
Ally's team did great *they don't keep score at her age*

Shya's team actually lost 3 to 1. Saturday they won 4 to 1. So far her season is 1:1

Soccer Days

Well I have been pretty busy and haven't gotten around to updating my blog. Today we have soccer practice after school. Ally had practice first and then Shya's team, so we sat at the park from 3:30 until 5:30. It seemed kind of long. The girls LOVE soccer. This is Ally's first year playing and her team is co-ed. Shya has been playing for a while. (I hate to brag but she is one of the best on the team, very agressive). They started their first girls only team last Fall and it was quite a hit for them. They are on their spring season with all the same girls, I think they might have added two more. They really are a good group of girls and if they stick it out they will be a great team.
They have the same coach his name is Donnie Shuster, he is awesome and very dedicated to "his girls". I am officially a "SOCCER MOM" now.
Fist Game is on SAturday, I will get some pics to post. Wish them luck.

Cookies on Sunday

Well Today is Sunday and since we can't run to the store when we get our craving for snacks, we decided to make cookies. We made chocolate cake mix cookies and we added peppermint extract to them and then covered them with powdered sugar. YUM YUM
Okay I've tempted you, heres the recipe:
1 box devils food cake mix (just the mix)
1/3 cup oil
2 eggs
A tiny tiny drop of peppermint extract
thats it. Mix it real well put in balls on the pan and then sprinkle with powdered sugar, cook about 325-350 for about 8 minutes. We like them very soft, so they may not look all done but take them out anyway and let them sit on the pan for about 10 minutes. Perfect yummy soft cookies!!!!

Ally had a talk today at Church in Primary, she did a good job. She showed a picture of her Great Grandma Allie May (her namesake) and talked about how some of us have important names. JEsus has many names, one in particular is the SAVIOR. She talked about what SAvior means and what he has done for us.
She did a great job. The primary president asked for a copy of her talk because she is compiling a list of all the talks given throughout the year from the children and then she is going to use them in the Primary Program at the end of the year. What a great idea!!

testimonies

Yesterday at church we had testimony meeting because our church got cancelled two weeks ago when our original testimony meeting was.
Shya came and sat by me and asked me "how do you bear your testimony?". I tried to explain to her about it and I encouraged her to get up. She did, she got up, it was short and sweet. Not too bad for a first time. As she was coming down the stand Ally looked at STeve and I and in a fairly loud voice said " Did she just make that up?" Everybody heard of course and laughed. It was pretty funny.
